Description

Join a marine scientist-guided whale watching tour launching from one of Byron Bay’s most popular beaches, The Pass. The tour provides a chance to observe humpback whales during their annual migration within the protected waters of Cape Byron Marine Park.

Meet the crew at the shop in central Byron Bay for a safety briefing before a short transfer to The Pass. The expedition-style boat offers excellent views of landmarks including Byron Lighthouse from a unique perspective.

The small group size (maximum 8 passengers) and 360° viewing platform ensure everyone can comfortably watch the whales from multiple angles. Marine scientists are on board to share information and answer questions about the whales.

Boarding requires wading into the water up to your knees, so wear shorts, loose trousers you can roll up, or a swimsuit. Guests prone to seasickness should bring their own medication, as it cannot be administered on board.

The tour prioritises safety and may be rescheduled or fully refunded if weather or sea conditions are unsuitable. Arrive on time for check-in; late arrivals over 20 minutes will forfeit their ticket without a refund.
