The slick black and white mosaic tiled bar area with its chalk board written wine-by-the-glass list transports you straight to a European enoteca. There is a great range of international wine and a selection of boutique beers.
The food is imaginative and full of enticing flavours, with tapas for sharing, mains and daily specials. Menus change seasonally, with the latest offerings including a slow cooked beef cheek in caramelised red wine with baby root vegetables and a chocolate & hazelnut custard with crema catalana gelato, praline and italian meringue.
If you're on holiday in Byron Bay, St Elmo is a great find. If you visit once, you're bound to want to return.
