private pavilions in a tropical rural setting
Local tip
The outdoor hot and cold shower is a practical feature after beach time, while the covered deck suits relaxed meals among the gardens.

The Lily Pad at Byron is self-contained holiday accommodation on a 50-acre tropical rural property at 218 Skinners Shoot Rd, a short drive from Byron Bay, the town centre and the beach. The setting combines open lawns and lush gardens with the privacy of a standalone retreat, making it suited to couples seeking a quiet base or families travelling with extra guests.

Accommodation is arranged across two architect-designed pavilions. The Studio pavilion is the main living space, with an airy open-plan layout, separate living and dining areas, a fully equipped cook’s kitchen and a contemporary bathroom with outdoor access. A separate bedroom looks towards the tropical gardens, while the covered deck provides space for outdoor dining, relaxing and using the barbecue.

The Studio also includes air conditioning, a built-in robe and a practical laundry with washing machine and dryer. An outdoor shower has hot and cold water, a timber privacy screen and a pebble floor, offering a convenient way to rinse off after time at the beach. The surrounding lawns and gardens give the pavilion a relaxed, private atmosphere.

The optional Retreat pavilion adds sleeping and living space for up to three extra guests. It includes a bedroom area, a separate lounge room with television, a bathroom with shower and tea and coffee facilities. A large surf mural brings a casual beach character to the space, which can suit teenagers or additional family members.

Up to five guests can be accommodated when both pavilions are booked. The Studio works as a self-contained stay for a couple, while the Retreat provides flexibility for a family or small group. Only one set of guests stays at the property at any one time, supporting a private experience across the pavilions, gardens and outdoor areas. Food arrangements are centred on self-catering, with the kitchen and barbecue providing options for meals during a coastal break.
